Trail Head
Austin, Texas
Miró Rivera Architects (Miguel Rivera and Clayton Fry)
Program: Conceived as a dynamic sculpture along Town Lake running trail, the restroom consists of forty-nine vertical Corten steel plates of varying width and height. The panels are arranged forming a spine that coils at one end to form the restroom walls. The plates are staggered in plan to control views and allow for light and fresh air.
Construction Administration: As my first assignment with Miró Rivera, I worked directly under Miguel Rivera on the addendum and coordination of a new site for the Town Lake restroom. Responsibilities included: site planning, construction documents, addenda, consultant coordination and site observation.
